The merchant never even replied to Capital One. Way to treat a customer of over 20 years. The company just sat back and waited for the whole issue to go to the wind. While the dispute was placed in the allotted timeframe, I was told that my letter, proof of purchase, and email to the merchant was not received within 90 days so the dispute cannot be honored. The end result was I had to follow up every time and was told something different. I am confident that if there was lack of payment, I would have had a certified letter sent to me. I assumed that paperless was for statements. The representative said that the feedback would be noted. I explained that when I placed the dispute, it would have been nice if the representative communicated to me that all follow up will be on the Capital One paperless account. I explained that I cannot understand why a letter was not sent in the mail. I explained that I received no follow-up or letter in the mail and the response was “Your account was paperless.” Spoke with several supervisors- got nowhere. Now I am told that I needed to complete a questionnaire. I called again to follow up after sending this all in, I was told they are still reviewing my dispute. I sent in proof of payment to the merchant, a page-and-a-half letter explaining the reason for the dispute, and the email I sent to the merchant for which they did not reply to.
